TARABA ASSEMBLY: Senator Bwacha Faults Taraba Lawmakers on Suntai

The senator representing Taraba south senatorialdistrict at the National Assembly, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha has frowned at the deliberate refusal of the members of the Taraba state House ofAssembly to honour the earlier transmitted letter to the House by Governor Danbaba Suntai. In a chart with LEGISREPORTS in Jalingo, the state capital, the senator felt sad that members went outside the constitution in the action.
The lawmaker stated that the House of Assembly acted outside their power in refusing to accept the letter sent to them by Governor Suntai.Insisting that “what the members did was wrong” they should as a matter of urgency reverse their decision and allow the governor whom according to him “was duly elected by the people” to resume his official responsibilities, he believes can no longer be overemphasized.
“The House of Assembly” as viewed by the senator “erred in refusing to accept the letter sent to them by the governor, informing them of his return and readiness to resume work.”Bwacha who could not fathom why some few people would want to throwthe state into ” anarchy” tells LEGISREPORTS that “by law, they are not supposed to stop him because that is the position of the law.
“The transmission of a letter to the House of Assembly by the governor” he says can be done “even by electronic mail or even through the media, not to talk of a written letter.”"So the state House of Assembly, as a matter of fact, and by the position of the law, does not need to border itself with correspondence because it is suppose to come by merely announcement to the members, informing them that the governor is back and has resumed work.
“Bwacha who was visibly sad by the action of the members went ahead todenied speculations that the ongoing political fracas has a link with his 2015 governorship ambition stating that the quagmire is the handiwork of “distracters who thought by doing that I will shift my loyalty from the governor.”According to him “My loyalty to Governor Danbaba Suntai knows nobound. I will be loyal to him till he leaves this mortal world and there is no condition attach to that.”Wondering why people have continue to speculates that he has been anointed by Governor Suntai as his successor come 2015, Bwach quickly told
LEGISREPORTS that “let me make it clear that Governor Suntai has never told me even in private that I am going to succeed him.”The ongoing quagmire as observed by LEGISREPORTS was necessitated whensixteen of the twenty-four members of the state House of Assembly refused to allow the earlier transmitted letter to the House by the state governor to enable him resumes duty sails  through.
